Do you need a sparring partner?
Many entrepreneurs are lived by the delusion of the day, which means that you miss the attention to reflect on yourself and your company. A moment of caution, even if only for an hour, can help you make the right choices. Maybe you have many ideas for the development of your company, but you don't know what needs to be done first to steer a new course. Or you fail to take steps forward. These are some examples of situations where a business coach can spar with you. Together we reflect on you as a person and entrepreneur, on your company. From there you can continue working on a new strategy, a refreshing course and the route to achieve it.

An entrepreneurial coach can help you find the right course, follow it and adjust it when necessary. Both the practical situations in the workplace and your long-term ambitions can be discussed. Sometimes it is a matter of reassessing your existing goals and ambitions. Sometimes you don't get any further with your team of managers or colleagues and you want to examine your own role in this. Or it is necessary to find more balance between you as a person and as an entrepreneur. Maybe it's a time to make fundamental choices and change course. So that you can work on what you want to achieve with new energy and more pleasure.

What do you focus on with business coaching?
Business coaching can focus on the psychological aspect, such as your mindset and motivation. This way you can investigate why you experience a barrier to putting yourself on the map as an entrepreneur. The focus can also be on practical aspects, such as: how do I reach my target group and how do I approach marketing.

As an entrepreneur you are often very lived by the many things that come your way. This often gives the feeling of being overwhelmed, the focus and overview is missing. The current performance society ensures that we take action quickly and do not take the time to consciously reflect on yourself, your company, your goals, your results and your wishes.

That is why entrepreneurial coaching is often focused on the performance aspect. You then reflect on achieving your results more effectively, without becoming overloaded. For example, the entrepreneurial coaching can first focus on mindset-related matters such as work-life balance and then be shifted to strategy and growth to finally get started with practical matters such as marketing and sales.

Entrepreneurial coaching at Tijs Breuer

Self-insight and reflection can help to create more overview and insight. You better understand how you are put together and you understand better why colleagues or employees react to you in a certain way. By changing your own attitude, you take a first step towards changing the situation or making progress. So you are guided to learn from yourself and about yourself.

How do we proceed?
Together we will look for your passions, your mission and your unique qualities. From there we look at the opportunities for new customers, markets and possibilities. I can think along with you about the cooperation with your employees, your management team and your board. I can also help you develop or update your business plan, with a clear vision, concrete and achievable objectives and steps to realize them.

My focus is on finding your own way and learning your own style in entrepreneurship. Of course it remains important to know your industry and field of expertise well and to discover for yourself what type of person you are and what your qualities are. But even more important is to discover where your passion lies, what you are passionate about and what is really valuable to you. Based on that motivation, you can better shape your company and enthuse your employees and customers. This is how you experience what is the key to success for you.

How do I get more energy and feel more empowered?
More and more people are getting overworked because they work too much. Often it is not the amount of work that causes them to burn out, but because they are not in their strength and therefore cannot handle the amount. You get more energy by focusing your attention on the right things. As an entrepreneur you are responsible for everything. By making choices, letting go of some things or outsourcing to others, you can focus on those things that excites you and that you are good at. And by giving priority to some things or helping yourself over the threshold to actively pick it up, a flywheel effect can suddenly arise. Sometimes you have to do something you never thought of yourself. This makes you more empowered as a person and your company performs better than before.

Coaching or consultancy?
Before you select a coach, it is important to determine for yourself and your company whether you need coaching or consultancy. The biggest difference between consultancy and coaching is that a consultant proposes solutions for you and for the company. Coaching teaches you how you can tackle the challenges (now and in the future). With business coaching, the coach will always try to help you grow as an entrepreneur and as a person. The starting point for facilitation is that the coachee already has the answers within him/herself. With the help of the right questions and reflection you come to answers and insights yourself. These insights will stick with you more than the advice and solutions that you will receive from the outside.

Is coaching tax deductible?
For entrepreneurs, coaching is deductible for income, corporate and sales tax. “If you follow a training course, course, seminar or workshop that demonstrably leads to deepening your knowledge, these are business costs that are fully deductible.” For individuals, the costs of coaching and career guidance are deductible under certain conditions. What you get back is about 30% to 50% with the income tax return.
